Badger’s Sett
Opened in 1996 this loop has got everything from water and large bunkers to wide majestic fairways and greens. Badgers Sett is also home to our ‘signature’ hole (as pictured); the sixth is a par three measuring 150 yards off the back tees. From this elevated position there is a nice big green with a horseshoe lake around it. Add the picturesque Wyre Forest in the background this hole offers a great chance to take a photo and a Birdie for the scorecard.

Badger’s Sett – Hole 1
White- 400 Yards Yellow- 338 Yards Red- 328 Yards
A short Par 4 over a slight brow, position your tee shot on the left half of the fairway to open up the green. A short iron is all that is left for the second shot which leads you to the generous green. Miss the green left and you run the risk of finding the hazard. Low handicappers will be looking for a Birdie but don’t be disappointed with a Par.

Badger’s Sett – Hole 2
White- 174 Yards Yellow- 165 Yards Red- 164 Yards
A downhill Par 3 with a large green is protected by bunkers either side of it and out of bounds to the left. A mid iron shot should safely find the green and with a two putt Par you’ll be more than happy. Miss the green either side and face a tough up and down.

Badger’s Sett – Hole 3
White- 403 Yards Yellow- 385 Yards Red- 375 Yards
A blind tee shot with out of bounds along the whole of the left hand side and trees guarding the right. A well-positioned tee shot along the left hand side of the fairway will open up a mid iron shot to a long, forgiving green. However a pushed mid iron could see you land in one of our deepest bunkers on the course. 2nd shot club selection is vital here as the green is nearly 40 yards long.

Badger’s Sett – Hole 4
White- 478 Yards Yellow- 468 Yards Red- 442 Yards
A dogleg left, relatively short Par 5 gives you a good chance of a birdie. A fairway bunker positioned to the left is reachable of the tee, avoid this and you can have a crack at the green in two, which is protected by water to the left and bunkers to the right of it. If laying up in two, avoid water to the right. Reachable in two, but if out of position off the tee take note of the dangers that lurk from 100 yards in to the green.

Badger’s Sett – Hole 5
White- 367 Yards Yellow- 356 Yards Red- 352 Yards
This Par 4 demands a well placed tee shot just on the right hand side of the fairway, if too far left then your view to the green may be blocked by the two large oak trees situated on the left of the fairway. Bunkers are ready to punish a slightly pushed second shot that surrounds a generous green. Tee shot is crucial here; a 3 wood off the tee to keep it straight will still leave you with a short iron in.

Badger’s Sett – Hole 6
White- 150 Yards Yellow- 142 Yards Red- 120 Yards
The 6th hole on Badgers Sett is our signature hole and is quite possibly one of the most spectacular holes in the region. Playing to a green 100 feet below the tee guarded by a horse shoe of water makes this a challenging hole for a golfer of any standard. Swirling winds on this hole can cause havoc and could be the difference between putting for birdie or fishing your ball out of the water and facing a difficult up and down: therefore club selection on this spectacular hole is of upmost importance.

Badger’s Sett – Hole 7
White- 481 Yards Yellow- 468 Yards Red- 378 Yards
A well-struck tee shot up the right half of the fairway should put you in perfect position. Out of bounds down the left hand side of the fairway come into play with your second shot, lay up and face a short iron third shot or go for it in two and run the risk of meeting the two deep fairway bunkers to the right of the fairway. Club selection is very important for both your second and third shot running through the back of the green will leave you facing a mammoth up and down.

Badger’s Sett – Hole 8
White- 400 Yards Yellow- 366 Yards Red- 348 Yards
Stroke index 1 on the Badgers Sett loop makes getting a par quite a challenge. Pushing your tee shot will see you in the trees or maybe even water however a pulled tee shot will see you in deep rough again with your view then obscured by trees. Aiming right of the fairway bunkers will leave you a mid iron second shot to a two tiered green with deep bunkers on the right and left.

Badger’s Sett – Hole 9
White- 418 Yards Yellow- 405 Yards Red- 338 Yards
On this final hole of the Badgers Sett loop a fairway bunker awaits a slightly pushed tee shot, a well placed tee shot will be rewarded with an open fairway. A mid to long iron second shot into a green with one bunker to the left and a deep bunker on the right. Happy to put 4 on the card here.
