    No penalty
Golf can be a frustrating game at the best of times, but incurring a penalty stroke when you’ve accidentally done something wrong seems very unfair, especially when that one stroke could be the difference between getting a handicap cut or not.

    Rules
    Current Rules
Under the current Rules of Golf, if you accidentally nudge your ball while addressing it you incur a one-stroke penalty and must replace it (18-2). The only exception relates to if it is accidentally moved in the process of marking it. In this case, it must be replaced and there is no penalty (20-1).

    New Rules from 2019
The new proposed rule (13.1c) states there will no longer be a penalty for accidentally causing your ball to move on the green and you must replace it on its original spot.

  • Ladies News

The Ladies held their Annual Presentation Evening on Wednesday 21st March, which was very well attended. We started the evening with a lovely three course meal followed by the presentations, there was a table full of trophies to collect and it was lovely to see so many ladies there to collect them. The picture shows that some ladies came away with several trophies. Congratulations to all the winners.

Wednesday 21st February was the 6th WOM, 17 ladies played and it was great to see one of our new ladies come first. Jane Franks won with 33pts, 2nd was Chris Perry and 3rd was Julie Curry.

On Wednesday 14th March we played the 7th WOM. This was a close game with three ladies coming in with 28pts, but Sue Davies came first on count back, 2nd for Helen Watson and 3rd for Heather Pringle.

The weather has done its very best to stop our play, but well done to our ladies for turning up in all conditions.
